Burning Less for Better Air Quality

May 4th was World Asthma Day. The EPA web site states, “Asthma is a serious, potentially life-threatening respiratory disease that affects the quality of life for 23 million Americans, including 7 million children.” Burning oil, in cars and trucks or in buildings, contributes dramatically to decreased air quality.

By taking simple measures to change your driving habits, you can reduce your carbon footprint by 22 pounds for each gallon of gas you don’t consume. You will also be reducing your emissions of filterable particulates, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide – all have significant impacts on air quality. By having the Fuel Economizer installed on your boiler, you will be making your boiler more efficient, reducing fuel consumption and reducing CO2 and the other pollutants that affect the quality of the air we breath.

As British Petroleum continues to grapple with a solution to the oil gushing out of the fractured earth on the bottom of the Gulf, reducing our individual oil consumption is more important than ever.  Through conservation you can put a damper on the “Drill Baby Drill” mentality that has brought us to this precipice of environmental and economic disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.  You will also be making a positive difference for millions of asthmatic Americans.
