Energy Efficiency Goals are Heating Up
Congratulations to the Town of Bedford, New York and their Energy Advisory Panel for creating and voting to adopt a Climate Action Plan, a blueprint for the implementation of numerous energy efficiency strategies.
The public comment period and vote were held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. The meeting was well attended with numerous speakers voicing their opinions as to why, or in the minority, why not, the Climate Action Plan should be adopted by the Town. The Town Board's unanimous decision to move forward with the Climate Action Plan and integrate it into the town's Comprehensive Plan was a powerful sign that Bedford is serious about decreasing its energy use.
Perhaps the federal government is as serious. On February 4, 2010, the Obama administration introduced the State Energy Efficiency Action Network (SEE), a cooperation of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. SEE is charged with providing states with funding solutions and education along with “targeted technical assistance” to help them to become more energy efficient, “Expanding energy efficiency is one of the quickest, most cost-effective ways we can address climate change and grow America's economy,” said Energy Secretary Steven Chu. “The State Energy Efficiency Action Network will help provide states with the technical and policy support they need to invest in energy efficiency, saving energy and money for families and businesses across the country.” See: http://yosemite.epa.gov/opa/admpress.nsf
The commercial and residential Fuel Economizer fits perfectly into the energy efficiency goals of towns, states and the federal government. A cost-effective retrofit that is installed onto existing boilers, the Fuel Economizer will begin saving fuel, saving money and reducing carbon immediately.
