Oil Prices are Rising
4 June 2009
We all remember the summer of 2008 when oil prices soared. We were paying $4.00 at the pump and close to that for home heating fuel. Luckily, prices plummeted in the fourth quarter of 2008, providing relief to our wallets and our fears. However, although still moderate compared to last year, oil prices are once again on the rise and have now hit the level they were in October of 2008.
According to the US Energy Information Agency, the retail price of number 2 fuel in Vermont was $3.40 per gallon the last time crude hit the current price of approximately $68.00 a barrel.
