You Have To Spend Money to Make Money
The concept of spending money to save money is a difficult one for many people. Spending money on Energy Star appliances, new windows, insulation, outlet gaskets, strategically placed deciduous trees, compact fluorescent light bulbs, etc. is hard to do, especially when less energy efficient alternatives are widely available and, from the perspective of an individual’s wallet, less expensive.
However, with the summer of 2010 gearing up to be the hottest summer on record according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for June 2010 was the warmest on record at 61.1°F (16.2°C), which is 1.22°F (0.68°C) above the 20th century average of 59.9°F (15.5°C)” http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov, spending to save is a reasonable, responsible and necessary action. Unlike buying a new outfit or motorcycle, spending money on conservation items such as the Fuel Economizer will not only benefit an individual’s wallet at some point in the future (the return on investment of the Fuel Economizer is usually in one year or less), the benefit to the planet might just serve to save us all.
